Scroll Smoothly using Firefox add-on Smoothwheel

Whenever you scroll down a web page it scrolls in jerks that really irritate you especially when you are reading large articles or blogs. If you are tired of these mouse jerks then don’t be get frustrated, Firefox makes browsing simple by offering you “Smoothwheel”
Smoothwheel is Firefox plug-in that allows you to scroll down pages smoothly.
Once installed and you scroll any page, it will scroll the pages very smoothly by trying to anticipate user’s intention. It works on all web pages and is fully configurable and also works with text and drop down menus. You can configure it from its options.


You can configure its scrolling speed to make readability better, set the page refresh time, and adjust the small step and large step for scrolling. The good thing about it is that it also works with keyboard arrow keys but you have to enable this feature from configurations.

Facebook web slice for Inter Explorer: Your friends and family are single click away from you

Facebook web slice is Internet explorer add-on which allows users a quick and faster way to access their Facebook updates. Now your friends and family are in your favorites bar in Internet Explorer.
Once installed Facebook slice will be added in the favorite bar.


At first, users have to login to his/her Facebook account by clicking the link “Click here to Login”. After logging in, click the FB slice and the slice will display your FB updates.

There you can share whatever you want, but most of the features available on this web slice will take you to the Facebook website.
Facebook Web Slice is only available for Internet Explorer 8. It can be downloaded from the Internet Explorer add-on’s gallery.

IReader: View news stories in a very easy to read, clutter-free, scrollable display

Today Safari’s Reader functionality is one of the most talked features which is a very nice way to reformat articles on blogs or news sites.
If you want to same functionality for your browser i.e. chrome or Firefox then iReader brings the same functionality to it. IReader allow you to read online articles in clutter free view without any distractions like menus, ads and other stuff. This is really helpful for the researchers and bloggers.
Once installed it auto detects the article in webpage and shows iReader icon on Omnibox in Chrome and on Address bar in Firefox.
Clicking iReader icon or using hotkey will open the article in iReader in clutter free view.


The IReader view allows you a variety of features to read the articles. You can zoom in, zoom out, print, email or share the articles quickly and easily.


To configure the IReader, click the configuration button placed at second position from right.

Pearltree: Teamup to organize, discover and share the stuff you like

Pearltree is a new visual bookmarking tool that helps you to organize your web page shortcuts in a much more intuitive way than the typical browser bookmark list. It also enables you to connect with other users who share similar interests.

A pearl basically represents a link to a web page. It’s an interactive object that you can move around your visual map. You can also share it with others who has “pearled” the same content and discuss it. The combination of pearls is called Pearltree. The closest analogy is to think of it like a folder that you can use to store pearls/URLs. Like a folder, you can expand and collapse it.

Once installed, first you have to crate your account at Pearltree.com. After setting up your account it will add buttons ion the address bar. Now if you want to share any page then click on the “add a pearl” button and the current page will be pearled as a new pearl.


To store this newly created, click the middle button which will allow you whether you want to create a new pearl or put in the existing pearls.

 

You can also create new pearls and pearltrees manually, using a horizontal window pane at the bottom of the screen. 


Whenever you click on a pearl, the application pops up a window that displays information about it such as who has connected to it and who is discussing it. It also contains a screenshot of the web page; to navigate to that page, you simply click on the screenshot. 
 What is especially intriguing is that you can view other users’ pearltrees. In order to see other users, click on the “related pearltrees” blue halo and a bunch of other users icons will move into the view which you can explore at well.
 
If you find links of interest while browsing other users’ pearltrees, you can drag and drop them from that tree to the “drop zone” at the bottom of the screen. To view your pearltrees, double click your pearltree and it will take to your pearltrees.

If you’ve built a pearltree the application enables you to share it in a number of ways Via
  •  Twitter
  • Via Facebook
  • Embedding it in your blog or website
  • E-mailing it
